My name is Jason. I was born in Cape Town, South Africa where I studied for 2 years and received my diploma as a graphic designer.
Over the last 15 years I have worked with many musicians, artists, organisations and companies, creating promotional material for events, designing logos, producing music and editing video. I have also worked as a store manager and salesperson for a musical instrument store in South Africa (Jt’s Musical Instruments). There I gained experience in customer service, sales, marketing and management.
I have been living in Finland for around 6 years now, and have been working for the city of Joensuu, doing graphic design and photography for various cultural projects and events. In Finland, I have also trained in various advertising agencies as well as other companies to gain linguistic knowledge and Finnish working life experience.
I am available for freelance, part-time or full-time job opportunities.
Thank you for your visiting my website and I hope you enjoy my work!
November was okay for me in terms of photography. The weather was mostly grey, and I wasn’t able to get out as much as usual. It was however interesting to see the change in the landscapes as the temperature began to drop, slowly freezing the lake water and producing some interesting shapes of ice. Above: […]
I was spoilt rotten by the weather in October. I gained some experience with woodland photography, got to see the northern lights for the second time and also managed to have the whole city of Joensuu to myself (not really, but at 4:30am it seems like it). The variety has been incredible, and although I […]
I’ve wanted to see the northern lights for as long as I’ve seen pictures of them, and last month I managed gaze upon the aurora for the first time, even getting a photo or two. Ever since then, I have been determined to witness them light up the skies once again, hypnotising all measly human […]
Autumn is an amazing time for photographing nature and landscapes. The colours are amazing and the sunsets aren’t to late at night, but I’ve decided to also set some time aside and do some local cityscapes here in Joensuu. I’ve been focusing on one area in particular, trying different angles and using different conditions to […]
Onkilampi is awesome. I’ve visited this place three times now, but this last time was definitely my favourite. This pond (seems like a lake to me), or ”lampi”, is located slightly northeast of Joensuu’s city centre, maybe around 6km away. It has it’s own beach as well as a few jetties. One of these jetties […]
With autumn being officially just a few days away, I’m keen to get out my gear and explore the shores. Last night’s sunset was mighty. Strong winds, dark clouds and bursts of sunlight all contributed to a show of nature that’s hard to forget. I sat on the shore for a couple of hours, waiting […]
